Templemore Classic 2026 Produces Thrilling Finish
28/6. The annual Templemore Classic attracted a strong entry and proved to be one of the most competitive club events of the season, with just ten points separating the top ten teams. Taking first place with an impressive 102 points were Paul Touhy, Jerry Keegan (Snr) and Jerry Keegan (Jnr), who edged out the runners-up by the narrowest of margins. Finishing in second place on 101 points were John Fitzpatrick, Mary Fitzpatrick and Claire Fitzpatrick, while third place went to Timmy Touhy, Padraig Maloney and Dinny Maher with 99 points. The remaining leading positions were closely contested, with Seamus Bourke, Joe Fahey and Liam Daly taking fourth on 97 points, followed by Jody Boyle, Joey O’Dwyer and Ger Lyons in fifth on 94 points. In sixth place were Pat O’Connell, Joe Hennessy and Maureen Connolly on 93 points. Also finishing on 93 points were the teams of Marty Brown, Gerry O’Dwyer and Adrian O’Dwyer, Garry Russell, Tommy Brett and Dean McEnrow, and Bertie Keane, Bernie O’Rorke and Mick Carey. Rounding out the top ten were Niamh Connolly, Matthew Ryan and Lorraine Ryan on 92 points. The Gross Prize (No-GI) was won by Matty Stapleton, Joe Kennedy and Cian Stapleton with 90 points. In the special categories, the Ladies Prize went to Marian Keely, Mary Gilmartin and Mary Hogan on 88 points, while the Junior Prize was claimed by Robert Miles, Pierce Deegan and Charlie Hennessy, also on 88 points. Prize winners in the on-course competitions included Cian Darcy, who won the Longest Drive, while Timmy Touhy captured the Nearest the Pin prize with a superb shot finishing just 2 feet 7 inches from the hole. The Templemore Classic once again proved a tremendous success, with excellent scoring throughout the field and a highly competitive finish among the leading teams.

5/7. Our Nevin team had to give second best to a very strong Mitchelstown outfit in Mitchelstown Golf Club this evening. All our players fought it out to the bitter end. Thanks to you all for your commitment to our club. John & Sean. Club Captain John Greed.
Junior Cup.
4/7. Our Junior Cup team after a heroic performance were defeated narrowly by Muskerry Golf Club. Teeing off at the unearthly hour of 7-40 am our lads under their manager, Ciarain Hassett played splendidly throughout. Many thanks for your time and effort John. Club Captain John Greed.

11/7. Lady Captain Michelle Hassett’s Captain’s Prize, Friday 11th. July. Best of luck to our Lady Captain, Michelle Hassett, as she hosts her Captain’s Prize. We wish Michelle every success and hope she enjoys a memorable occasion. We also extend our very best wishes to all competitors and hope everyone enjoys two wonderful days of golf, with qualifying rounds taking place on Tuesday, 7th July, and the main competition on Saturday, 11th July. Junior Golf Lessons at Templemore Golf Club.
15/7. Templemore Golf Club is delighted to offer junior golf lessons with PGA Professional Shane Ryan, starting on 15th July. Duration: 5 weeks, Cost: €60 per child. Lesson Groups: Under 12s: 10:00am. Ages 12–16: 11:00am. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. It helps young people develop confidence, discipline, concentration and respect, while also encouraging healthy outdoor activity and lifelong friendships. For many youngsters, golf provides an excellent social outlet during the summer months, giving them the opportunity to meet new friends, enjoy the outdoors and participate in a sport that can be enjoyed for life. 26/6. Eventually at the 4th. time of asking we had our 1st. away outing of the year in Roscrea. A lovely day for golf was followed by an excellent meal. 1st. Team with 99 pts. Jerry Keegan, Pat O Connell, Seanie Gleeson and Michael Healy. 2nd. on 98 pts Sean Cashman, Frankie Shortt, Mick Murphy and George Collins. 3rd. On 97 pts Tommy Foley, John Bergin, Jim Casey and Phil Ryan. Well played all.

2/7. A great day with fine weather fine course and good company what more can one ask for on a Thursday morning in July. The eleven teams brought in some excellent scores, 1st place team on 56 points Brendan Russell, Francis Murphy and Martin Mullally. In 2nd place with 55 points Pat Looby, Mick Carey and Christy O’Rourke on the third step of the rostrum on countback with 54 points we have Liam Leahy, Donal Golden and Mick Maher well played all.

13/7. A date for the diary, our second away trip is to Dundrum on the 13th, July. It will be golf only as there is currently no restaurant facilities at Dundrum there is a chuck wagon for burgers and hotdogs there are also tea coffee scone and sandwiches facilities so you won’t starve.
