Captains Prize Week; Best of luck to Club Captain Tony O’Toole and Lady Captain Lorrain Ryan on this special week of Captains Golf events. The week will commence with the Vice-Captain Prize S/F on Saturday 6th. and Sunday 7th. Ladies preliminary round on Tuesday 9th. Social Mix and Vice-Captain Prize Presentation on Wednesday 10th. Seniors on Thursday 11th. Men’s Captain (Stroke Play) preliminary round on Friday 12th. Men’s semi-final and Ladies Final on Saturday 13th. Men’s Captain final on Sunday 14th. There will be joint presentations in the Club Lounge Sunday evening. A great week of golf activity to be enjoyed by all. (Results in next Issue)

Central Towns Trophy: Another great victory by Liam Leahy winning formula team -v- Birr, home and away on Saturday 6th. Another brilliant performance for the Club. The tournament is organised and run by Tullamore Golf Club and the Trophy, which is perpetual, is known as the “Central Towns Trophy”.
Boyne Trophy; Congratulations to the Ladies in their victory -V- Baltinglass on Sunday 7th. Another proud achievement for Templemore Golf Club. A Super victory. The BOYNE TROPHY competition was the brainchild of the esteemed Gretta Foran in 1994, designed to cater for the “over 50’s” ladies, it has progressed to be one of the most fiercely contested competitions in the midlands and surrounding areas.

“Cadets” Section; The New Cadet section commenced on this Wednesday 3rd July at 10am. The Cadets are in 2 parts. Age 8 to 15 Boys and Girls. Age 15 to 18 Boys and Girls. All members who have a junior family member that has an interest in Golf should encourage them to call in on Wed. Also if new to the game, clubs will be made available to those that do not have them. This is an opportunity to build members for the future of the Club. All training will be in association with CGI (Confederation of Golf Ireland) guidelines and will continue throughout the year. Cadet Youth Competition; There will be a 9hole competition for Cadet Youths (15-18) on this Thursday 11th. at 6.30 pm. All youths who want to join the Cadets Golf can call in on Wed. 10th. at 10am where there will be a training session in progress. All Boys and Girls are welcome. The fee is €25 for the year membership.
LMC Golfer of the Year; Two Templemore members, Bernie O’Rourke on 212 pts and Bertie Keane on 209pts. are leading the strong field of players. We wish them and all the other Templemore senior members the best of luck in future LMC competitions.
