Seniors Outing in Nenagh GC.

20^th. May.  On a day when the sun smiled on the combatants at Nenagh Golf Club the 9 teams returned great scores.  With 105 points was Tom Kenny, Liam Daly and Tom Ryan. In 2^nd. Place  with100 points were Ollie Murray, Bernie O’Rourke, George Collins and Jim Middleton. In 3^rd. place Paudie Butler, Mick Carey, John Egan,  and Christy O’Rourke fantastic shooting. Thanks to Nenagh golf club and the catering staff the food was excellent.

 

Seniors Thursday.

23^rd. May.  On a day when March returned to Templemore Golf club the wind whistled around the old hollyhocks and scoring was not to its usual standard but the six teams persevered and in 1^st. place with 50 points were Donal Golden, Frankie Shortt and Colm Dooley. In 2^nd. place on a count back of the last hole with 48 points was John Hassett, Les Mason, Seanie Gleeson and Eoin Wolahan in 3^rd. place also on 48 points were Bernie O’Rourke, Ailbe Egan, Pat O’Connell and Jim Gilmartin. Well played gentlemen.

26^th. March.  We had 38 entries on a fine weekend for golf. 1^st.Martin Mullally 3 up. 2^nd. Gerard Lyons 2 up. 3^rd. Stephen Anderson 2 up. (on a count back).

Munster Trophy Winners.

Sat. 18^th. May.  Munster Trophy Victory v Faithlegg Golf Club.  Players at home were Josie Bourke, Michelle Hassett and Mary Hayes. Away in Faithlegg were Claire Fitzpatrick and Breda O’Connell. Michelle Hassett won her match at home and Claire Fitzpatrick won her game away. Mary Hayes and Breda O’Connell were beaten. Josie Bourke took us down the 19th to win the match.

12^th.May.  Great win today for our ladies Revive teams against Dundrum. Congratulations Sheila and ladies.

 

Pierce Purcell Team.

6^th. May.  TEMPLEMORE  V  CAHIR PARK  4 PAIRS  FOURSOMES. A sincere thanks to the Pierce Purcell  team for their heroic efforts who went so close to bring the game to the  sudden death deciding pair. A tramline putt on the 18th in the final match from about 4 yards off the green to a matter of inches deprived us a chance for victory. I sincerely thank all the panel for their efforts in preparing for this match. The course team for making the course so well despite the wet  weather, Thanks to the hospitality from Trish Foley for the beautiful cakes provided for both  teams before play, ably supported by Angela Galvin.  I also wish to convey good wishes to John Cashman Cahir who suffered a nasty facial injury accidentally while playing the first hole in their match.  Thanks to all who helped with First Aid support.  Many thanks to Tommy Foley, Joint Manager. Best wishes to J.B. Carry and Cashman teams competing  this Monday and Tuesday.  John Galvin

2^nd. May.  Pat O Connell Golf Secretary: The winners of the 3 Person Team event were Martin Bohan, Martin Mullally and Mick Keely with a score of 74 pts.

Last weekends 16 holes competition had 26 entries. 1st Mick Carey 41 pts. 2nd Ted Kennedy 39 pts (on a count back).

 

Seniors Results.

16^th. May.    On a day when the warm weather finally smiled on the merry band of six teams of seniors the scoring reflected the day. In 1st place with 53 points was Ailbhe Egan, Tony O’Toole, Les Mason and Phil Ryan Snr in 2nd place with 52 points John Kirwan, George Collins, Paddy Fogarty and Mick Maher. Not far behind on 51 points in 3rd Liam Daly, Colm Dooley and John Galvin well done one and all.

 

9^th. May.  On a day when the sun shone on the Righteous and Templemore seniors alike 7 teams squared up for the Thursday morning antics. In 1st place with 52 points were Sean Lee, Pat O’Connell and James Murray in 2nd with 51 points were Sean Cashman, Tony O’Toole, Colm Dooley and Paddy Fogarty and in 3rd with 50 points Tommy Foley, John Galvin, George Collins and Seanie Gleeson well done lads.

 

Ladies 18h. Stableford.
