ONGOING COMPETITION;  3 Man Waltz, 9 holes, Extended to 1st. March due to the continued inclement weather. 

Seniors on Thursdays. Due to the continued inclement weather the Seniors is deferred to Thursday 27th.  Hope the weather clears for the enthusiastic seniors willing to brave the elements for their game of Golf.

Golf Fees are now due for 2020.

There are 3 payment options; .

  • Place Payment in the “FEE BOX” in locker room.

Include Name, Category, Amount and date on the Envelope.

Select your Category, select the “Buy Now” and proceed.

  • Pay by, “On-Line Banking Transfer”.  Set up “New Payee” if not already registered.

Special Fees for 2020.  There is a “Special Rate” for beginners which is guaranteed not to change for 3 years.  This is very attractive for anyone new interested in joining and for those purchasing vouchers to give a life changing experience to someone.  New members are now been accepted.  All current members are encouraged to introduce at least “ONE NEW MEMBER” Lady or Gent, Junior or Student, Seniors Juveniles and Family, Active Retiree’s, Special Needs or any person interested in taking up the sport.  It will be a huge advantage to building the club membership and profile especially now that the club will have its own autonomy.

“Cadets Membership 2020” ;   You can join the Golf Cadets anytime from the age of 8 to 13 Boys and Girls and Cadet youths Age 14 to 18 Boys and Girls.   All members who have a junior family member that has an interest in Golf should encourage them to call in on Wed and Friday’s.  If new to the game, clubs will be made available to those that do not have them.  This is an opportunity to build members for the future of the Club.  All training will be in association with CGI (Confederation of Golf Ireland) guidelines and will continue throughout the year.  Do your best to promote this venture.  A special practice range is now in place for the Cadets.  Contact Pat O’ Connell. 087-9205821 Club Juvenile Liaison Officer. Come along if you are interested in playing Golf

Templemore Golf Club News; 

 

Seniors Thursday 6th. Feb.  There was a great turn out of our Senior group today with 28 players taken part despite the inclement weather. The results were 1st. with 56pts. John Hassett, Sean Gleeson, Joe Hennessey, and Michael Healy, 2nd.  with 51pt. Martin Bohan, Frankie Shortt, Paudie Butler, and Les Mason. 3rd. with

50pts. Dinnes Tuohy.  Pat O Connell, Pat Costello, and Tom Kennedy. Seniors Golf is on every Thursday at 10am and open to all seniors golfers. All will be made very welcome with Tea, Scones and banter after the event.

Templemore Golf Club News; 

 

Captains Drive-in;  There was a fantastic turn out on Sunday 2nd. Feb.  which displayed a positive solidarity for the Club from its members and for the Club executives going forward.  Fr. Domonic started the occasion with a traditional blessing in remembrance of all past members and to all present members especially in this autonomy year of the club.  Special wishes were expressed to Captains Tom McGrath and Kay Brennan also to Presidents Padraig Moloney and Breda Murphy.  Captain Tom McGrath thanked all involved in making it a successful occasion with a special tribute to the ladies in hosting a great presentation of beverages and food which was a delight by all.  He expressed a special thanks to Patricia Foley for the wonderful Captains Cake which was ceremonially cut by Captains Tom and Kay.   He also thanked Fr. Dominic for the traditional blessing also to Competition Secretary Dinny Touhy and his assistants Sean Lee and Dinny Maher for organizing the competition.  President Padraig Moloney expressed great enthusiasm in the future of the Club in this Autonomy year and praised all volunteers in the wonderful work resulting in the course been in great conditions and the greens with a exceptional thanks to Greenkeeper Jack Alexander.  He also expressed to all members that  “This is Your Club” all should be very proud of it and contribute in whatever way one can to making it a Golf Course of Excellence into the future.  Lady Captain Kay Brennan also expressed similar thanks to all and expressed the commitment by the Ladies to the club and will promote it in the best possible way.  Lady President Breda Murphy also thanked all involved and looked forward to a great Ladies Year of Golf.

Competition Secretary Dinny Touhy assisted by Sean Lee and Dinny Maher got the competition teams started. A 9hole, best ball Scramble.

With the results in hand Competition Secretary Dinny Touhy expressed a great thanks to all also to the Greens Keeper Jack Alexandra.  He positively mentioned the promotion of all competition been displayed in the Locker room in advance of the year for all to make personal plans around the Golf Competition dates, he then proceeded with the results;

1st. Team;  Seamus Bourke, Jerome Ryan, Dermot Cooper, Mary Hogan,  Gross 30/Hc 8.8/Nett. 21.2.
