Seamus Cody Perpetual Cup Honours a Templemore Golf Club Legend.

26/7.  The spirit of community and tradition was to the fore at Templemore Golf Club on Saturday, July 26, with the presentation of the prestigious Seamus Cody Perpetual Cup, a competition that commemorates one of the club’s most respected and influential figures.  Seamus Cody is rightly regarded as a Templemore Golf Club legend, having devoted decades of service to the club both on and off the course. He served as Club Captain in 1977 and later as President in 2005, while also playing a pivotal role in the development and maintenance of the course. As course manager for several years, his dedication and commitment helped shape Templemore Golf Club into the outstanding facility enjoyed by members today.  In recognition of his immense contribution, the Seamus Cody Perpetual Cup was presented to the club in 2017 by his son, Andrew Cody, as a lasting tribute to his father’s legacy and his lifelong commitment to Templemore Golf Club.  This year’s winner was Mick Carey, himself a distinguished member and former Club Captain in 2011. The cup was presented by Seamus Codys Granddaughter, Ciara Bourke, a particularly poignant and fitting occasion.  The presentation served as more than just the conclusion of a competition. It was a celebration of the values that Seamus Cody embodied throughout his life, friendship, volunteerism, dedication and club spirit. The gathering reflected the strong sense of solidarity and camaraderie that continues to define Templemore Golf Club, ensuring that Seamus Cody’s legacy remains an enduring inspiration for future generations of members.  The Seamus Cody Perpetual Cup stands as a fitting tribute to a man whose influence on Templemore Golf Club will never be forgotten.  Appreciation to Denis Ryan Motors for Sponsorship of this great event.

28/7.  Templemore Golf Club is endeavouring to starting a 45-minute Stretch & Mobility Class at the golf club for all golfers, men and women, beginners and experienced players alike.  Proposed day and times, Tuesdays at 1:30am and 6:30pm.  Depending on interest, we may run one or both sessions.  Benefits include: Improve flexibility and mobility, Help your golf swing and reduce stiffness, Meet and get to know fellow golfers in a relaxed, friendly setting.  Cost: €10 per class (pay as you go).  If you’re interested, contact Lady Captain Michelle Hassett,  let her know which time suits you best. 11:30am. 6:30pm.  Or if Both times suit.  We look forward to hearing from you. Thank you. Lady Captain Michelle Hassett.  Why Stretching Matters for Golfers.  A regular stretching and mobility routine can make a real difference to your golf game and overall wellbeing. Improved flexibility helps you achieve a fuller, more controlled golf swing, while better mobility can increase balance, stability and power. Stretching also helps reduce muscle stiffness and the risk of injury, making it easier to enjoy your golf both on and off the course.  Just 45 minutes of stretching each week can help you move more freely, feel better and get more enjoyment from your game. It’s also a great opportunity to meet fellow members in a relaxed and friendly setting.  Move better, swing better, feel better!
