Templemore Golf Club News;

Captains Drive-In Sunday 20th. Jan.;   Captains Tony O’Toole and Lady Captain Lorraine Ryan Drive-In also Club President Michael Keely and Lady President Mary Hogan was a huge success.  There was a fantastic turn out of players also a fantastic turn out of Family friends and well wishes.  The day was exceptional in that the weather was perfect and the course was in fantastic condition, with particular thanks to Vice-Captain Dinny Maher and all the volunteers who made this a special day for the Club.  The Club is now officially open for business and would welcome all lapsed members a great welcome back.

The winning teams were;  1st.  Dennis Ryan, D. Kennedy, Ambrose Purcell, Seanie Gleeson.  2nd. Dinny Touhy, Brendan Russell, Matt Ryan, Mary Butler.  3rd. Des Hennessy, Eddie Butler, John Mullally, Margie Costigan.  Congratulations to all.

Captains Drive-In;  Sunday 20th. Jan. @1.00.  Captain Tony O’Toole and Lady Captain Lorraine Ryan Drive-In will be the day to celebrate the opening of this fabulous 9hole Golf Course for business for the Golf year 2019.  All club members past and present are all invited to take part in this 9hole mixed.  There will be refreshments for all and a great day of golf.  Give you full support to both Captains by registering on the day.

2019 Golf Rules Local Presentation;  It was great to see a good attendance from Templemore Golf club at the New Rules presentation in Thurles Golf Course on Friday 11th.  The presentation was very professionally delivered by Mary Coman, Thurles, and our very own Pat Dunne.  It was very informative and in layman’s language.  Well done to both and much appreciated by all in giving us the correct golf terms and rules for 2019 and onwards. Templemore Golf Club News;

Bereavement;    The death has occurred of Michael (Mick) HICKEY, Moyne/Thurles, on Saturday 5th Jan.  after a short illness.  Sincere sympathy is extended by all the Club Members to his daughter Edel, son Liam, son in law Joe, Marie, and grandchildren Emma and Meabh.  Mick was a long-standing member of Templemore Golf Club and competed on many occasions all over the country on behalf of the Club.  He will be deeply missed by all members and especially by all the Seniors as he was a great character and one of the early Seniors Member.  May Mick rest in peace.

 

Weekly Open Competition Success;  This is an ideal opportunity for all outside club members to avail of this OPEN COMPETITION.  The course is playing well and in great condition.  This weekly 11hole open competition is proving very successful due to the excellent condition of the course and due to the continued support and comments, it will continue until further notice. .  The winners for week, Monday 25th.
