Women’s Golf

Intermediate Foursomes.

Sat 27th.    Congratulations to the Templemore ladies Manager, Mary Fitzpatrick and team on their great win v Cahir, in the Intermediate Foursomes.  It were 2 games each and went to sudden death down the 19th.  where Claire Fitzpatrick and Josie Bourke won on 19th.

 

The Revive Active Fourball.

Fri. 18th. Big congratulations to the Revive The Revive Active Fourball team who had a tremendous victory over Thurles with all matches played in Thurles.

 

Munster Trophy, singles match play.

28th. April.  Golf Team Manager Michelle Hassett(Lalor). 3 matches at home, each Templemore player gave 4 shots to their opponent West Waterford. 3 players at home won their games on the 12th. and 14th. holes. Josie Bourke won on the 14th, Lorraine Ryan won on 14th and Michelle Hassett won on the 12th. Claire Fitzpatrick won on the 13th. and Bernie Stapleton was called in.   Congratulations to all.

Seniors Golf.

26th April. Fri.  On a day we moved back to the big boys long course, the scores reflect the extra yardage, but the 6 teams enjoyed the dry conditions and still scored well with three points covering the first four teams. In 1st. place with 54 points was Paudie Butler, Frankie Shortt, Les Mason and Seanie Gleeson. Then there were two teams on 52 points in 2nd. on count back, Mick Carey, Eamonn Connolly, George Collins and John Stapleton, also on 52 points Bertie Keane, John Mullally and John Galvin.  Well played all.

 

18th. April, Thurs.  On a day when spring finally might have spring or that was just the sound of creeking joints warming up seven teams took to the green of Templemore golf course and it was a blanket finish with only three points covering all the teams. In 1st. place on outback with 59 points was Mick Carey, Michael Cahill, Colm Dooley and Seanie Gleeson in second place also with 59 was Bertie Keane, John Mullally, Michael Healy and James Murray, In 3rd. Place with 58 points Sean Cashman, Paddy Bourke, Tom Kenny and Liam Leahy. Well done all.

Templemore Golf Club Open Competition in Trump International Links Course Doonbeg.

Doonbeg Open.

9th. April.    Doonbeg open was organized by Templemore President Tommy Foley with an appreciation to Joe Russell and Tom Kenny for their kind reception in making this wonderful Golf outing a great success. 69 Golfer’s took part. The inclement weather remained out of sight for the event and the course was in fabulous condition, which allowed some great golf. In first place with 37 points was Jerry Keegan Jnr. Second with 35 was Matt Henley Nenagh GC with 35 points. In third place with 34 points was Bertie Keane.  Looking forward to next year already.

 

Club Week End Competition;

2/4.  Our 9 holes V-Par competition had a decent 22 entries. 1st Pat O Connell +8. 2nd. Bertie Keane +7 on a count back.  Well done to all that took part in spite of the inclement weather.

Men’s Experience Golfers.

11/4.  On a great morning for golf six teams took to the course under blue skies, we could be in Barbados.  The results were in 1st. place with a good 61 points Tony O’Toole, John Kirwan, Frankie Shortt, and James Murray followed in 2nd. place only a point behind on 60 points were Pat O’Connell, Colm Dooley and Donal Golden. Followed by two teams on 58 points and 3rd. place on count back goes to Liam Daly, Eamon Connolly and John Egan. Well played all and we wish Pat O’Connell a great two weeks of Sun and Sangria in Spain, be patient dear friends as we will strive to keep up the standards in his absence.

 

4/4.  On a day that started slightly overcast but dry, Seven teams ventured out onto the course in great condition despite the weather, Thank you Dinny and Pat. After a totally of dry rounds the scoring was very even. In 1st. place with 61 points was Bernie O’Rourke, Paddy Bourke, Michael Healy and James Murray in 2nd. place with 59 points was Bertie Keane, Frankie Shortt, John Mullally and Seamus Ryan. A point away on 58 in 3rd. was Ollie Murray, Mick Cahill, Les Mason and Jim Middleton. Well done all and thanks to all that came up afterwards the social was as enjoyable as the golf.

 

21/3.    After a grand morning in Templemore the top three from the seven teams that took to the course are:  In 1st. place with a very good 61 points was Ollie Murray, Liam Daly and Colm Dooley followed closely in 2nd. place with 60 points was Eamon Connolly, John Kirwan, George Collins and Jim Casey. The 3rd. place team with 58 points was Bernie O’Rourke, Paddy Bourke, Les Mason and Mick Maher.

Great play and a very good turn out for scones and chat afterwards.
