Templemore Golf Club, Bereavement of former Club President

A Tribute to Rody Cawley, A Gentleman, A Leader, A Friend.

The Templemore Golf Club community is mourning the loss of Rody Cawley, who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16th. Rody was more than a golfer; he was a cornerstone of our club, a man whose influence and kindness will resonate for generations to come.

A Life Dedicated to Templemore Golf Club.

Rody’s association with Templemore Golf Club spanned decades, during which he contributed tirelessly to its growth and success. His love for the game was matched only by his love for people. Whether on the fairways or in the clubhouse, Rody embodied the true spirit of golf sportsmanship, respect, and camaraderie.

In 2023, Rody served as Club President, a role he fulfilled with distinction. His presidency was marked by vision and inclusivity. He worked to strengthen the bonds between members, championed junior development programs, and ensured that every golfer, regardless of experience  felt welcome. His leadership was not about titles.  it was about service, and he gave selflessly.

A Legacy of Warmth and Wisdom.

Rody was known for his warm smile and his ability to make everyone feel valued. He had a gift for conversation, a knack for encouragement, and a deep understanding of what makes a club thrive in the community. He believed that golf was not just a sport but a way to bring people together, and he lived that belief every day.

His contributions extended beyond administration. Rody was a mentor to many, offering guidance to new members and sharing his wisdom with seasoned players. He was a steady hand during times of change and a driving force behind initiatives that kept Templemore Golf Club vibrant and forward-looking.

The impact of Rody’s work will be felt for years to come. The projects on the fairways he supported, the friendships he nurtured, and the values he upheld have become part of the fabric of Templemore Golf Club. His legacy is one of generosity, humility, and unwavering dedication to the club.

As we bid farewell to Rody, we celebrate a life well-lived, a life that enriched our club and our community. He leaves behind not just memories but a standard of excellence and kindness that will inspire us all.

Rest in peace, Rody. Your presence will be deeply missed, but your spirit will forever walk these fairways.
