Seniors Golf.

14^th Sept.  Nine teams took advantage of the weather which just cleared for the brave hearted seniors.   1^st. Place with a magnificent 57 points was Paudie Butler, Seanie Gleeson, Jim Gilmartin and John Stapleton. 2^nd. place with a respectable 54 points on count back Pat O’Connell, John Egan and Tommy Deegan. and in 3^rd. place also with 54 points, Bernie O’Rourke, Paddy Fogarty, Phil Ryan Snr, and Paddy Nolan. Great shooting. Wonderful crack in Greenview Restaurant afterwards.

Templemore Golf Classic.

8^th. 9^th. 10^th. Sept. Winners.  1^st Team,  Ted Kennedy, Pat Looby, Dessie Hennessy, Sean Lee.  2^nd. Team, Dylan Carey, Leigh Carey, Kenny Lee, Sean Lee.  3^rd. Team.  Joe Fahy, Paddy Bourke, Seamus Bourke, Liam Daly.  This weekend Friday 8th, Sat 9th and Sunday the 10th was the Classic a major fundraiser for our club and the support from all is appreciated.  The Classic was not only open for Club Members but friends and family from other clubs and to also Non-GI players.  It was a brilliant success due to the great condition of the course, the sponsors and especially the competition organizing team.  All the players endured heat up to 30 degrees which was a test on the ability of the teams to endure.  Some great prizes included a 4 ball voucher to some amazing courses including Royal Tara, Doonbeg plus other great prizes.  Also, The Greenview Restaurant was in full swing for refreshments during the days and enjoyed by all.

2^nd Aug.  Congratulations to The Fed Perry team, who beat Lucan Golf Club in the All-Ireland Quarter Final in Callan 3.5 to 1.5. They now play the all-Ireland semi/final in Westport on the 22nd, 23^rd. and 24^th. of September.

 

Social Mixed.

30^th. Aug.  Was the last Social mixed of the season and all involved are to be congratulated for their endeavors to continue this great fundraised event for the club. The winners were.  1^st.  Seamus Bourke, Ambrose Purcell, Margaret Buckley.  2^nd. Place, Timmy Touhy, George Murrey, Josie Bourke.

 

Seniors Golf.

6^th.Sept.  Well, the good weather from last week blessed us again today as the Seniors showed their continued support for the club and participated in the Seniors Classic in 1^st. place a 3 ball that really shot the lights out with 57 points Ollie Murray, Seanie Gleeson, Rody Cawley. In 2^nd. place with 53 points ( on Countback) Eamon Connolly, Tom Ryan, Michael Healy, and Pascal Whelan and finally in 3^rd. place also with 53 points Bernie O’Rourke, John Mullally, John Stapleton and James Murray. An appreciated thanks to all.

Please support our Champagne Scramble Golf Classic this Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th. This is a very important financial fundraiser for the club which needs your support. I encourage all our members to participate and please ask your friends in other clubs to support this event also. Non golf club members are also very welcome. Book your time early on HandicapMaster. If you do not have access, phone me or a committee member to book your time. There are many prizes to be won. Full catering facilities also available. The forecast is good for the weekend, so let’s go and play some golf.

8^th. 9^th. 10^th. Sept. Our annual Club Classic is on Fri 8th, Sat 9th and Sun 10th Sept.  Team of four entry is €120 euro.  This is a very important financial fundraiser for our club.  All members are encouraged to take part and also encourage golfers from outside our club to make up a team of four.  You can now book your tee time via Master Scoreboard or www.templemoregolfclub.ie [templemoregolfclub.ie]  Thanks for your support.  Regards Club Committee

Weekend Competition.

3^rd Sept.  The weekend of the 2^nd. and 3^rd. September saw the Indian Summer arrive and the conditions were great for golf. The winner of the 18-hole Competition was Jody Boyle with 39 points and in Second was Ambrose Purcell with 37 points.

31st.  Aug.  On a day that started off miserable and dreek and with some shuffling of personnel the nine teams finished their rounds in great golfing weather. And the scoring once again was close across all the teams. In 1st Place with 54 points were Eamon Conolly, Frankie Shortt and John Stapleton. In 2nd Place on 53 points Ollie Murray, John Greed, Les Mason, and Jim Middleton. In 3rd place with 52 points were Bernie O’Rourke, Mick Murphy, and Christy O’Rourke. Well played all.

 

Seniors Contribution to the Club.

31^st. Aug.  The Seniors contribution to Rody Cawley’s Presidents prize is handed over to the Competitions Secretary Sean Lee by the Seniors Treasurer Les Mason
