Lady’s Achievements in the

Revive Active and Ann Heskin competitions.

These are fantastic achievements for Templemore Golf Club and show the exceptional talent amongst these ladies. We wish all players and management the very best as you prepare for your finals and we ask our club members to support the ladies on both days,11th. and 18th. Oct. and encourage them to bring home the silverware. Lady Captain Michelle Hassett and Club Captain John Greed.

 

Revive Active Golf.

26/8. Huge congratulations to the Revive Active ladies who secured a phenomenal win over East Cork in Castlemartyr.

The ladies are now in a Munster Final on the 18th. October against, Dooks Golf Club which will be played in Cahir Park Golf Club.

 

Ann Heskin Golf. 

11/10.  The Ann Heskin ladies have also secured their place in a Munster Final on the 11th. October against Spanish Point Golf Club, which will be played in Mallow Golf Club.

 

18hole V Par competition.

20/9.  V-Par is always a fiercely competitive format, and this week was certainly no exception. The scoring was extremely tight, with every shot and every hole counting towards the final outcome.  When the margins are that small, there’s little room for error, and it takes a strong, consistent round to emerge on top. As they say, “the cream always rises to the top”, and congratulations go to our worthy winners who held their nerve to take the honours.

1st. Ciaran Hassett,  2nd.  Brendan Collins, 3rd. Mattie Stapleton. Well done to everyone who competed in what proved to be another closely fought and enjoyable competition.

 

Men’s Seniors.

24/7.  9 devoted teams went out on a blustery morning with sanded greens, but some players manage these dilemmas. 1st. Team.  57 pts Birdie Ryan, Colm Dooley, Liam Leahy and Jim Middleton. 2nd. Team. 54 pts.  Pat Looby, Francis Murphy, Michael Maher and Phil Ryan. 3rd. Team, 53 pts on a count back, Declan Russell, Paddy Bambrick, John Stapleton and Seamus Ryan. A fine crowd of players gathered upstairs afterwards for buns and cakes and like-minded conversations.

 

Autumn League, It’s Back.

5/10. Great news, by popular demand, our Autumn League is back.  Running from 5th. October to the 2nd. November. It’s the perfect opportunity to keep the clubs swinging and enjoy some friendly competition as the season changes. So don’t put the clubs away just yet. Get involved, support the League, enjoy the craic, and let’s make our returning Autumn League one to remember.  Good golf, good company, and a bit of friendly rivalry, what better way to enjoy autumn at Templemore Golf Club.

 

Bereavement.

19/9.  The Club wishes to extend our deepest sympathies to the Kingston family on the passing of Angela, who served as Lady Captain in 1979. Angela was a respected club role model and a very competitive golfer. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this sad time. May Angela Rest in Peace.

Congratulations to Our Diageo Cup Champions.

20/9.  Templemore Golf Club is immensely proud to congratulate our Diageo team,  Seamus Bourke, Timmy Tuohy, Club Captain John Greed, Declan Kennedy, Dinny Maher, Pardaig Moloney. Helen Hayes, Lady Captain Lorraine Ryan, Michelle Hassett,  Niamh Connolly, Claire Fitzpatrick,  Kathleen Maher, on a fantastic victory over Tullamore in today’s final, in Roscrea, bringing home both the Diageo Cup and Shield.  What a wonderful achievement and a brilliant champagne success for everyone involved.  This victory is the fitting conclusion to a fantastic journey. The commitment, determination and team spirit shown throughout the campaign have been tremendous, and today’s result is a richly deserved reward.  Huge congratulations to every member of the team and to the team manager for the hard work, preparation and dedication that made this memorable success possible.  You have represented Templemore Golf Club with great pride and distinction throughout the campaign.

19/9. Huge Congratulations to Our Ladies. Lorraine Ryan, Mary Gilmartin, Anna Cashman, Claire Fitzpatrick,  Josie Bourke, previous team players, Breda O’Connell and Kay Brennan. A fantastic achievement and another proud chapter in a brilliant journey to our wonderful ladies on a superb Munster Ann Heskin Trophy semi-final victory over Mallow.

The commitment, determination and team spirit shown throughout the campaign have been outstanding. Now it’s on to the Munster Final. One more step, ladies.  Bring on the Final .

 

Congratulations to Padraig Moloney

13/9.  Everyone at Templemore Golf Club extends warm congratulations to Padraig Moloney on his outstanding achievement in finishing runner-up in the Men’s Section of the All Ireland Captains’ Prize Winners Competition 2026 at Roscrea Golf Club, returning an excellent score of 40 Stableford points against a top-class field of 2026 Captain’s Prize winners from clubs throughout Ireland.  Narrowly beaten on one point by  Winner, Pat Cody 41 points, Ballymoney GC. Padraig’s success comes as no surprise to those who know his dedication and commitment to the game. A former Club Captain in 2005, he has been a tremendous ambassador for Templemore Golf Club both on and off the course for many years. His victory in the 2026 John Greed Captain’s Prize was another fitting milestone in a golfing career marked by consistency, sportsmanship.  Padraig’s achievement in Roscrea is a source of great pride for everyone at Templemore Golf Club. We congratulate him on a superb performance. Well done Padraig.

 

Men’ Seniors.

17/9.  It was a day of showers and sun but it is September and as someone said we could have got wetter. So the spirits of the ten teams were not too damp by the end. In 1st. place with 55 points were Bernard Barry, Frankie Shortt, Phil Ryan Snr. and Christy O’Rourke. In 2nd. place with 53 points were Pat O’Connell, Paddy Fogarty, Tony O’Toole and Martin Mullally. In 3rd. Place with 51points we had Sean Cashman, Tommy Foley, John Russell and Mick Maher. Well played all.

 

Golf Stretch and Mobility Class.

22/9.  Don’t Put Your Golf Fitness Away with the Clubs!  As the golfing season draws in, it’s the ideal time to work on your flexibility and mobility. Golf, specific stretching helps keep the body moving freely and supports the rotation and movement needed for a comfortable golf swing. Suitable for men and women, it’s a great way to keep yourself golf-ready throughout the autumn.  Continuing to run every Tuesday morning at 11.30 and Tuesday evening at 6.30pm. For men & women.  If you are interested in joining now as the golf season begins to draw in please let us know and we can add you to the group.  4 classes for €36 starting on October 6th  until 27th , pay by September 29th.  Thanks everyone.  Lady Captain Michelle Hassett.

6/8. Congratulations to our Diageo Mixed team. Timmy Touhy, Travor Quinn, Declan Kennedy, Dinny Maher, Padraig Moloney, Seamus Bourke, Kathleen Maher, Helen Hayes, Shauna Geary, Lorraine Ryan, Claire Fitzpatrick,  Niamh Connolly, claiming a super victory over Tipperary Town in Roscrea semi final today. A wonderful team performance and a credit to the club. We wish them the very best of luck in the Diageo final against Tullamore on September 20th.

 

Revive Active.
Sat 5th.  Congratulations to our Revive Active Ladies team on their excellent victory over Lismore on Saturday. After a hugely competitive and closely fought contest, with three matches at home and two away, the Templemore ladies edged through to secure their place in the semi-final. Well done to all involved, and best of luck in the next round.

 

McHugh cups.

It is proposed to run the McHugh four ball match play over 11holes, 1-11, Friday 11th and Saturday 12th September. Men’s Seniors.

3/8.  What a great day as we slip into September and the autumn of the year many of the seniors still had a spring in their step and the usual Thursday was enjoyed by the nine teams that took to the field. The scoring was excellent with eight teams in the 50’s. In top spot on 59 points were Pat Looby, Colm Dooley, Christy O’Rourke and Jimmy Middleton. Then came three teams on 57 the best of these on countback were Brendan Russell, Pat O’Connell, John Egan and Seamus Ryan and on 57 in Third place on Countback were Bernie O’Rourke, Mick Carey and Tom Hogan.  Well played all. Next week’s Seniors will be on Wednesday 9th. as a number of our regulars are out with the LMC in Portumna on Thursday .  Best of luck to all.

31/8. The club extends sincere sympathies to Club president Sean & Anna Cashman on the passing of Sean’s sister Eilis Cashman of Carrigtwohill, Cork on 31st. Aug.  May her gentle soul rest in peace.

32/8.  Well what a “one club” we are and no better displayed by the fantastic turnout 105 members for Sean Cashman’s President Prize this past weekend, the weather was mixed, it did not deter the players, and the scoring was exceptional.
The Winner with a fantastic 45 points was Jerry Keegan Snr.   Best placed Lady was Frances Stapleton with 40points. The second placed man was Denis Ryan with 41points on Countback. 3rd place Lady was Mary Hayes-Kenny with 37points, on Countback 3rd Place man was Joe Fahey with 41points, on countback 4th place Lady, Lorraine Ryan 37 points, on countback 4th place Man and Past President Seanie Gleeson with 41 points. 5th place Lady and Past President Mary Hogan 37 points, 5th place man Declan Russell 40 pts. on countback 6th place Lady, Sheila Delaney 36 points and 6th place man Timmy Tuohy 40 points, 7th place Lady, Evelyn Lyons wit 35 points and 7th place man, Joe Shelly with 39 points.  Well played all.

26/8.  President Sean Cashman, Lady Captain Michelle Hassett Club Captain John Greed, on behalf of all club members, presented a lifetime honour scroll to Breda Murphy 90 years young.  Breda is one of the club’s most dedicated and valued members. She plays a vital role in organising the ladies senior golf, regularly featuring among the prize winners. Her contribution extends well beyond the fairways. Every Wednesday evening, Breda is at the heart of the hugely successful Social Mixed, taking entries and correcting scores.  Having been a member of Templemore Golf Club for an incredible 51 years, Breda’s commitment, enthusiasm and service to the club are truly remarkable. Much loved and highly respected by fellow members, she remains an integral part of club life and is, in every sense, one in a million. Thank you, Breda, from all club members.

31/8.  Our powerful ladies have secured a victory over East Cork on their home ground today.

This result is a true reflection of how talented our ladies are.

Men’s Seniors.

27/8.  On a day when the rain returned to the Emerald Isle and it mainly fell on our intrepid nine teams of Seniors. They may have been damp but their spirits burnt bright and there was some good scoring and good Craic for tea and cake after. 1st. Team, place on countback with 56 points were Eamonn Connolly, Paddy Bambrick, Michael Healy and Seamus Ryan. 2nd. Team also on 56points, Marty Ryan, Tommy Foley, Jim Gilmartin and Eoin Wolahan. 3rd Team, with 54 points Donal Golden, Pat O’Connell and Jim Casey, well played all.
