New Year Acknowledgements;

 

A very special happy New Year to all our members especially in this historical Autonomy year with lots of Golf competitions ahead on this wonderful Golf Course starting with, winter 9 hole Stableford ongoing competition.  As the days are getting longer there will  be lots of opportunities to play this great game, GOLF.  Special Joining fees and Vouchers are available contact Tony, 086-8209991.

 

Special Fees for 2020.  There is a “Special Rate” for beginners which is guaranteed not to change for 3 years.  This is very attractive for anyone new interested in joining and for those purchasing vouchers to give a life changing experience to someone.  New members are now been accepted.  All current members are encouraged to introduce at least “ONE NEW MEMBER” Lady or Gent, Junior or Student, Seniors Juveniles and Family, Active Retiree’s, Special Needs or any person interested in taking up the sport.  It will be a huge advantage to building the club membership and profile especially now that the club will have its own autonomy.

 

“Cadets Membership 2020” ;   You can join the Golf Cadets anytime from the age of 8 to 13 Boys and Girls and Cadet youths Age 14 to 18 Boys and Girls.   All members who have a junior family member that has an interest in Golf should encourage them to call in on Wed and Friday’s.  If new to the game, clubs will be made available to those that do not have them.  This is an opportunity to build members for the future of the Club.  All training will be in association with CGI (Confederation of Golf Ireland) guidelines and will continue throughout the year.  Do your best to promote this venture.  A special practice range is now in place for the Cadets.  Contact Pat O’ Connell. 087-9205821 Club Juvenile Liaison Officer. Come along if you are interested in playing Golf

Acknowledgements

Happy Christmas;  A very special happy Christmas to all our members, sponsors and to all the media support over the year,  Have a very safe and special Christmas.

 

Autonomy for Templemore Golf Club.  Christmas is always a special time of the year and this year came as a very special Christmas for Templemore Golf Club. The club will celebrate its 50th year in existence in 2021 and to date it has been on lease to the Garda Sports Field Company.  The groundwork has been established to have its own Autonomy going forward after very diligent negotiations over the year by the club delegation, Captain Tony O’Toole, Treasurer Tom McGrath, Secretary Pat O’Connell, Communication Officer Martin Bohan and Former Captain Liam Daly with the Garda Sports Field Company and the OPW.   The news came with great delight by all Club Members at our AGM and members from far and wide also from our sponsors who were so generous in their support, which is an acknowledgement and testament that Templemore Golf Club is truly recognized as an integral sport amenity in the town. Acknowledgements were extended from the local Community, local sport organisations, friends of the Club, non-member golfers, golf clubs far and wide, and local politicians on the future autonomy success of the club.  We now look forward to a return of past members, Distant members, Junior, Societies and new members who wishes to join the club will be more than welcome. Senior Golf Results; for Thursday’s seniors outing. 1st. with 52pts. John Hassett, Jim Gleeson, and Tom Kennedy.  2nd. with 51pt.  Eddie Butler, Ollie Murray, Frankie Shortt, and Tom McGrath.   3rd. with 49pts. Joe O’Connor, Tom Hogan, and Donal Golden.  10 team’s took part in the competition and 45 enjoyed our Xmas Party in Murphy’s Pub an excellent meal and service was supplied by them. The evening concluded with entertainment supplied by PJ and Michael.  Philip was like Santa dishing out the goodies and Pat looked after the draw making sure everyone went home with a gift.  A fantastic and enjoyable occasion was had by all.

Senior Golf Results;   Thursday 28th.  Message to our Senior members. Another great turnout again today 7 team’s took part, weather fine and dry and Greens in excellent condition. The results were 1st. with 51pts. John Hassett, PJ Leahy, Ollie Murray, and Jerry Keegan. 2nd. with 48pts. Eddie Butler, Jim Gleeson, John Galvin, and in 3rd, place also with 48pts, were Joe O’Connor, Mick Connell, Donal Golden, and Pat Maher.  A reminder about next Thursday’s events golf will take place at 12. 00 noon with Xmas Dinner taken place in Murphy’s Pub at 3.00pm sing song and craic to follow.  Any member wishing to bring a gift is welcome to do so. Philip will be distributing credits to all winners and runners up over the past year.
