Historic Joint Sean Cashman President’s Prize Weekend at Templemore Golf Club.
Templemore Golf Club is preparing for a landmark occasion as members gather for a historic Joint President’s Prize, held in honour of Club President Sean Cashman. In a first for the club, there will be one overall Premier Prize, open to both ladies and men, which will be awarded to the leading player regardless of gender. Separate prize categories for Ladies and Men will then apply for all other placings, adding an exciting new dimension to one of the most prestigious competitions on the club calendar. The President’s Prize will be played over three days, from Friday, August 28, to Sunday, August 30, and promises to be a fitting celebration of President Sean Cashman’s year in office. Competition Times. Friday, August 28th. Men: 2.00pm to 3.50pm. Ladies: 4.00pm to 4.30pm. Saturday, August 29th. Ladies: 9.00am to 11.00am. Men: 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Sunday, August 30th. Men: 8.00am to 10.00am. Men: 12 Noon to 2.00pm. Members are reminded to book their preferred tee times through the Club WhatsApp group. The weekend will conclude with the Presentation of Prizes at 7.45pm in the Clubhouse, where members, families and friends are invited to celebrate the winners and acknowledge President Sean Cashman’s contribution to the club during his term of office. As the final major club competition of the season, the President’s Prize traditionally attracts strong support, and this year’s innovative format is expected to generate even greater interest among the membership. The club extends a warm invitation to all members and friends of Templemore Golf Club to participate and support President Sean Cashman in what promises to be a memorable and enjoyable weekend of golf and social celebration. Templemore Golf Club’s Play in Pink Week Raises €2,166 for Breast Cancer Support.
The Ladies Golf Committee at Templemore Golf Club has expressed its sincere appreciation to members and supporters following the outstanding success of the club’s annual Play in Pink Week 2026. In an appreciation message, organiser Mary Hogan announced that a total of €2,166 was raised during the week-long fundraising event in aid of breast cancer services and support. “On behalf of the Ladies Golf Committee, I am pleased to acknowledge that €2,166 was raised during our Play in Pink Week 2026. To all who took part, contributed so generously, and helped any way to make the event such a great success, thank you. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference in the fight against breast cancer. Well done to each and every one of you.” Mary Hogan, Ladies Golf Committee. The committee extended its gratitude to all members, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters whose efforts helped ensure another successful fundraising campaign. Umbrella Raffle Winner. As part of the week’s activities, a raffle was held for a special Play in Pink Golf Umbrella. Congratulations were extended to Anne Bergin Russell, who was the lucky winner of the umbrella prize. Mary Hogan also thanked all those who purchased raffle tickets and supported the initiative. “Congratulations to Anne Bergin Russell, winner of the Play in Pink Golf Umbrella. 23/8. The winner of this weekend’s 18-hole Stableford 3T’s Qualifier was John Stapleton, with a fantastic 44 points a full seven points ahead of the field. Well done John, he will be off to represent the club with the winner of the equivalent lady’s competition and our two Captains.
Country Club Team:
23/8. Clonakilty Golf Club proved the stronger side when all travelled to Castlegregory on August 23 to take on Templemore, emerging with a well-earned 3½-1½ victory. Clonakilty displayed great consistency and teamwork throughout the matches and were deserving winners on the day.

13/08. Well as the old saying goes records are made to be broken. In sweltering conditions the scoring was also scorching. The 12 teams returned some serious scores. 1st. 62 pts Tom Mc Grath, John Galvin, Colm Dooley and Phil Ryan. 2nd. 57 pts on a count back Bertie Keane, Tom Kemnny, George Collins and Michael Maher. 3rd. 57 pts Frank Russell, Gerry Mc Govern, John Russell and Jim Casey. 20/8. Well the day had some rain for the first time in ages but it didn’t dampen the spirits of the intrepid Seniors. What was originally an eight team field was expanded to nine when they heard the clarion call that there were spot available and that ninth team won the day. The scores were close with only five shots separating eight of the teams. So in 1st. place on 56 points on countback were Sean Cashman, John Greed and Phil Ryan Snr. In second place also on 56 points was Liam Daly, John Galvin, John Stapleton and Martin Mullally. In 3rd. place on 53 points on Countback Bernie O’Rourke, Richard Fogarty, Joe Hennessy and James Murray. Well played lads.
Templemore Ladies Produce Sensational Revive Active Victory.
18/8. Revive Active Inter-Club Competition. 18th. August. There was great excitement and pride in Templemore Golf Club this week as the club’s Revive Active Ladies Team in Templemore :Sheila Delaney, Claire Fitzpatrick,

Josie Bourke, Shauna Geary, Lorraine Ryan, Mary Fitpatrick, Mary Hayes Kenny & Helen Hayes, all delivered a remarkable performance to secure a memorable victory over Mitchelstown Golf Club. The match was played across both venues, with three matches hosted in Mitchelstown and two in Templemore, and the Templemore ladies rose magnificently to the challenge. Facing a strong home side on unfamiliar territory, the team showed tremendous determination, skill and composure to claim what many described as an incredible victory. The contest was fiercely competitive throughout, with several matches finely balanced. In a dramatic display of golf, the opening five holes in one crucial match were halved before the Templemore player seized the initiative on the sixth, setting the tone for a fantastic team effort. To travel to Mitchelstown and come away with such a result is a tremendous achievement and a testament to the strength, spirit and talent within the Templemore ladies’ ranks. The victory continues what has been a truly outstanding season for Templemore Golf Club, with the ladies leading the way through their commitment, teamwork and excellent performances on the course. The team’s success has been widely praised by club members, with many describing the result as one of the highlights of the year. Congratulations to the entire Revive Active panel and their supporters on a wonderful achievement. As the season progresses, Templemore’s golfing women continue to make the club proud, proving once again that hard work, belief and team spirit can produce extraordinary results. Well done, ladies. Golf Stretch & Mobility class.
Templemore Golf Club’s Golf Stretch & Mobility Classes continue and are proving popular with local golfers. The 45-minute sessions are designed to improve flexibility, mobility and overall wellbeing, helping golfers move better and enjoy the game for longer. Open to men and women of all abilities, classes take place every Tuesday at 11.30am and 6.30pm. The cost is €10 per class on a pay-as-you-go basis, with no block booking required. The classes aim to improve flexibility, reduce stiffness and support a better golf swing, while promoting health and fitness both on and off the course. Contact Lady Captain Michelle Hassett.
Golf Stretch & Mobility Class Continue.
Golf stretching sessions continue at the club. Regular stretching helps improve flexibility, balance and mobility, all of which can contribute to a more efficient golf swing and help reduce the risk of injury. Members are encouraged to take part and enjoy the benefits both on and off the course.
