Men’s Seniors.
11th. Sept.  On a cool but bright and mainly dry day eight teams took to the course for the usual seniors Thursday morning cavort the day also saw the return of two old friends Pascal Whelan and Willie Haverty after a long absence. The scoring was great with four points covering the first six teams.  In 1st place on count back with 54 points was John Kirwan, Pat O’Connell and Tony O’Toole in 2nd place also with 54 points was Mick Carey, Frankie Shortt, Jerry O’Dwyer and James Murray. In 3rd Place with 53 points was Sean Cashman, Ollie Murray, Jim Gilmartin and Pascal Whelan. Great Play lads.

Weekend V Par.

8th. Sept.  Result of the weekend V Par competition. 1st Tom Stapleton +7. 2nd Jody Boyle +4. 3rd Michael Purcell +2.

 

Autumn League.

1st.Oct. The club intend having an Autumn League over the next month or so. It will consist of 4 rounds of 9 holes played off green markers. Entry is €20. Expressions of interest can be done on WhatsApp or on a sheet in the locker room.

Ladies Fitness Class.

20th. Sept.  The Ladies are starting a fitness class upstairs in the clubhouse this Fri at 10 , kasia is the lady giving the class , she is a highly qualified instructor and is willing to to give an introductory class for free so people can see if this type of physical activity suits (improve strength, balance and flexibility), as there is only room for15 in the class if you would be interested could you give a thumbs up on the Ladies What’s App for Fri so we have some idea of numbers and she is willing to give a 2nd. class at 11 if necessary.

Irish Open

31st. Aug.  Lady Captain Caroline Fogarty organised a trip to the Irish Open on Saturday 31st August for the ladies of Templemore golf club. Great interest and uptake for the day trip. Set off from Templemore Golf Club at 9am heading for Carton House, Maynooth for Day 3 of the Irish Open. Weather was fantastic for the day and proved to be a scorcher. Great following for Leona Maguire on every hole.  A true talent in Irish golf.  Returned to the Templemore Arms for dinner to end a super day.  Thanks to all the ladies, until next year.

Diagio Mixed.

24th Aug.  Our gallant Diageo mixed team were beaten by Roscrea today, well played all thank you all for representing our club so well. Captain Les Mason.

Social Mixed.

28th. Aug.  Our final Social Mixed  this evening Wednesday 28th August. A big thanks to the Ladies who helped out in the various rolls i.e.: Organised the Draw, results, and the provision of teas + sandwiches each Wednesday, well done !! Senior Men’s Outing.

26th. Aug.  On an excellent day in Mountrath where we were given the very best of welcomes and enjoyed the course and the meal afterwards. Ten teams took to the course for our latest seniors outing and some excellent scores were returned. In 1st place with 104 points was John Kirwan, Pat Looby, Mick Maher and James Murray. In 2nd place on countback with 99 points John Hassett, Tom Ryan, Christy O’Rourke and Eoin Wolahan and in 3rd place also on 99 points Seamus Bourke, Paddy Fogarty and Tony O’Toole. Thank you to Mountrath and thank you to all our Seniors who made it such an enjoyable day.

 

Seniors Wed. Competition.

28th. Aug.  On a day of mixed showers and heat a fantastic turn out saw 10 teams take to the hallowed turf of Templemore golf club and there was some mixed returns in 1st. place with 55 points was Liam Daly, Pat Looby, John Stapleton and James Murray. In 2nd. place on 53 points John Hassett, Tom Kenny, Seanie Gleeson and Phil Ryan Snr. Not far away in 3rd. with 52 points is Jim Russell, Joe Hennessy, Colm Dooley and Tommy Deegan. Many came up for tea cake and banter afterwards. Great Day thanks Lads.
