Templemore Golf Club Notes;
The Captains Prize; The Captain’s Prize Week presented by Captain Martin Bohan was a fantastic success. Congratulations to Martin and his team. It was great to see so many competitors both Ladies and Gents involved in all the various golf competitions over the week and in particular the Captains Prize Stroke play on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with the qualifying 9 hole playoff on Sunday evening. The weather was in the favour of the players who all displayed great golf. The competition heated up but a steady round of golf played by the winner Dessie Hennessy held off the pack. Congratulations to Dessie on a wonderful game of golf. Some great shots he played will be in our conversations for some time to come. The presentation night of both Ladies and Gents Captains in the Templemore Arms on Sunday Night 30th. was also well attended followed with music and dance and a great night of entertainment.
Lady Competition Secretary, Josie Moloney gave a great account of the Ladies winners. Lady Captain Josie Bourke congratulated all the winners and presented the Ladies prizes with a special mention to visitors from the Rathdowney Golf Club and congratulated Templemore Golf Club on having the course in such great condition.
Men’s Competition Secretary, Liam Leahy paid special complements to the Greens Manager John Alexandra on his dedication and due diligence on attending to all the equipment and to keeping the course in such good condition and also to all the volunteers who continually give up their time to the upkeep of the course.
Club Captain, Martin Bohan complemented the support of all the club members over the year and the attendance in the week of competitions and the presentation function was a testament that Templemore Golf Club is very active and vibrant and continues the heritage and the importance of having a Golf Course in Templemore for the future of our youth.
