an annual golf competition, most recently held at Birr Golf Club in October, with other clubs participating. It is a major event that draws teams from various clubs.

On a fantastic October day for golf , Its been worse in July, the eight teams sallied forth to enjoy Templemore Golf Course in great order and returned some great scores before enjoying the craic in the clubhouse. Those celebrating most were in 1st. Team, with 52 points was Micheal Purcell, Ambrose Purcell, John Stapleton and Phil Ryan Snr. Second Team, with 50 points was Seamus Bourke, Tommy Foley, Mick Maher and Pascal Whelan and 3rd. Team. with 49 points on count-back was Ollie Murray, John Galvin, Jim Casey and Jimmy Middleton.
