Captains Prize.

Jim Ryan’s Captain’s Prize Friday 22nd. to Sunday 24th. July.  Congratulations to the winner Jerry Keegan Jnr.  A delightful weekend of Golf.  The course was in excellent condition.  Jim thanked all who made contribution on the preparation of the course also to all members who took part in the competition and to the ladies for their commitment in the supply of the food and beverages.  A very successful weekend of Golf.

Seniors Results.

21^st. July.  Well, another excellent golfing day for the 9 teams that ventured out this morning and all the groups broke the 50 barrier.

First with 57 points Liam Daly, Jim Gleeson, Gerry Hayes and James Murray.  In second place on count back with 56 points were Donal Golden, Pat O’Connell, John Egan and Micheal Healy.  In third also with 56 points Seamus Bourke, Paudie Butler,Les Mason and Joe Clarke.  Reminder the next outing is on FRIDAY 5th August at Rathdowney we will be running the usual Thursday morning at Templemore.

July.  Another fine day in Templemore Seniors land and again great scoring.  Out of the 8 teams, In first place with a fantastic 60 points.  John Kirwan, Frankie Shortt, John Egan and Joe Clark.  In second place with a commendable 57 points Jim Gleeson, John Galvin and Christy O’Rourke.  and in Third with an excellent 55 points Bernie O’Rourke, Pat O’Connell, Pat Maher and Jim Gilmartin. Just a reminder that on Friday the 5^th. August we have our second outing of the year the venue this time is Rathdowney the cost will be €30 this will include the round of gold, dinner and prizes.

Seniors Results.

30th. June. A brilliant day for golf 8 teams participated and returned excellent scores,  The best of these were in 1^st. place with 54 points Sean Cashman, Mick Murphy, Tom Hogan and Liam Leahy. In Second place with 53 points Liam Daly, Mick Carey, Frankie Shortt, and Paddy Nolan. and 3^rd. Place with 52 points (on count back) John Hassett, John Galvin, Jim Casey and Christy O’Rourke.  A date for the diary the next trip is to Rathdowney on FRIDAY 5th August.  A request from the Main Committee any volunteers for Monday/Tuesday 4^th and 5^th. July for a couple of hours to clear spinnys .

 

Bereavement.

R.I.P. Joe O’ Connor. A longtime member and competitor of Templemore Golf Club.  He will be sadly missed by all for his constant tuition on the ball play and also for his dedication to the club as a very competitive player.  Condolences to his loving wife Ellen, Daughter Jennifer, son Liam, daughter in law Edel, son in law Lorcan, grandsons Shane and Jack.

Guard of Honour assembly at 11.30am at Sacred Heart Church on Tuesday 5^th.  All members in Full Dress code.  “Joe left us as he lived, Everyones Friend”  May he rest in peace.
