Morrissey Cup, Spirited Templemore Display.
18/5. Despite their exit from this year’s Morrissey Cup, Templemore’s challenge came to an end against a strong Portlaoise side after a performance full of character, courage and determination. In difficult evening conditions, our young team ! rose to the occasion and produced a display that reflected great credit on themselves and the club. While the result did not go our way, the effort, attitude and spirit shown throughout were exemplary. These lads, many experiencing inter‑club competition at this level for the first time, displayed composure beyond their years and battled bravely to the very end. Their commitment to the cause and pride in representing Templemore Golf Club was evident in every match, home and away. Competitions like the Morrissey Cup are about building experience, fostering team spirit and creating the foundations for future success, and in that regard, this campaign will stand to them. The club extends its sincere thanks to all panel members and management for their dedication and effort. There is no doubt that this group has a bright future ahead, and the lessons learned here will serve them well in the seasons to come. Well done all.

Men’s Seniors.
21/5. Templemore Seniors Lead the Way. The dull but dry conditions, milder than of late, provided the perfect backdrop as a fantastic turnout of ten teams took to the hallowed turf of Templemore Golf Club. Once again, it was our club seniors who set the tone, with numbers continuing to rise and participation going from strength to strength. There was some excellent scoring on the day, with first place decided on countback after a superb 55 points from John Galvin, Mick Murphy, John Stapleton and Eoin Wolahan. Just edged into second, also on 55 points, were Ted Kennedy, Colm Dooley and Tony O’Toole, while Pat Looby, Frankie Shortt, Christy O’Rourke and Paddy Bourke secured third place with a very solid 52 points. Well played to all. More importantly, the continued growth in numbers among the senior ranks is hugely encouraging. It speaks volumes about the spirit, camaraderie and love of the game that exists within this group. Week after week, our seniors are not only competing but leading by example, showing that enjoyment, friendship and healthy competition remain at the heart of Templemore Golf Club. Long may this trend continue, as the seniors continue to drive participation and set a standard for the entire club to follow.
