Templemore Golf Club News;    



Condolences expressed to John Stapleton and family on the sad passing of their daughter Amanda in the UK on Monday 6th. Funeral arrangements to be finalized.

Condolences also expressed to Dinny Ryan and family on the sad passing of their son John on Thursday 9th.  The Ryan family have been involved with Templemore Golf Club for many years. John’s father Dinny has represented the club on various teams, his grandad Jimmy Snr. was a past President, and his uncle Jim is our current Handicap Secretary. Our thoughts and prayers are with his parents Dinny and Patricia, his brothers James, Daniel and Donncha, grandparents and extended family and friends. Burial took place in St. Brigid’s Cemetery on Mon. 13th.


Weekly Open On-Going 9hole Competition;   A weekly open on-going competition commenced on Monday 13th. May.  Ideal for players who can only get their game in the evenings and is also open to all players and will be more than welcome.  Details on Locker room notice board.

JB Carr Competition;  After the recent victory over Tipperary Town, the team traveled to meet Ballykisteen Golf Club on Tuesday 7th.  at 3pm.  Luck did not prevail on the day.  Ballykisteen were the better side. We we’re beaten 4.1.  Well done to everyone in representing our Club.  The result was not ours this time. Last year was special victory. Let’s look forward again to more victories.


Saturdays & Sundays Week End Competition;  The 18hole Stableford on Saturdays and Sundays is now in full motion.  The course is in excellent condition, so great scores are expected.   Link up with other available players by using the Club “Whats App”

Mixed Social Golf ;  The Social Mixed Golf 9 holes is now in full swing every Wednesday Evening,  Registration 6.30pm .  Wed 9th.. May. Winning Team. Declan Kennedy, George Murray, Gerome Ryan., Diarmuid Brennan.  Now that the start time has moved to 6.30 full support will be appreciated.  Congratulations to all.


“Cadet” Section;   Collective vetting will take place this week.  “Garda Vetting application Forms” have been circulated and are also available in the locker rooms.  All members Ladies and Gents who want to be involved in this great project for the future of the club will have to complete a “Vetting Form” it would be fantastic if, as many as possible would support the development of the Cadet sector in our club under the guidance of CGI, (Confederation of Golf Ireland).  Completed form can be placed in the “FEE” box in the locker room or contact Pat O’ Connell. 087-9205821 Club Juvenile Liaison Officer.


Club Survey;  A “Club Survey” form to complete will be issued shortly.  Your input to this project is giving each member Ladies and Gents an opportunity to “having your say “ on the future development of the club.  This Survey will be analyzed under the guidance of CGI, (Confederation of Golf Ireland) for more information contact Club Secretary,  Pat O’ Connell. 087-9205821

Beginner Special Rate.  There is a “Special limited Fee” for beginners which is guaranteed not to change for 3 years.  This is very attractive for anyone new interested in joining and for those purchasing vouchers to give a life changing experience to someone.  New members are now been accepted.  All current members are encouraged to introduce at least “ONE NEW MEMBER” Lady or Gent, Junior or Student, Seniors Juveniles and Family, Active Retiree’s, Special Needs or any person interested in taking up the sport.  It will be a huge advantage to building the club membership and profile.


Lapsed Members are more than Welcome Back; 

A special rate for “Lapsed Members” that have not played/joined for “One Year” can avail of a “welcomed back” once-off, special rate of €200 and Ladies €170.

This is a great motivation opportunity for golfers, Ladies and Gents who want to return to this great social game.

The Seniors Golf;   The Seniors is an ideal opportunity for “Lapsed Members” to return to the club.  There will be a great “Welcome Back” for them, also, great team support, Banter and refreshments.   “Make your return to Golf Now”. Call in on Thursday mornings at 10am. To play or at 12noon approx. for to join in the Cuppa and Banter.
