Weekly News up to 2nd Feb 2017

Bereavement;

Sympathy is extended by all club members on the passing of Rody Cawley’s Mother in law, Josephine Bergin on the 2nd Feb. and to Jane Cawley, and all the Bergin Families.

May she rest in peace.

Notes;

The next committee meeting is on Thursday 9nd Feb. at 8pm. Sharp. (Last week meeting was cancelled in respect of the bereavement above)

All committee member are requested to attend to make this a vibrant action meeting.

Fixtures:

The Weekly competition will continue throughout the week, Fee €5.

There has been great attendance to this weekly event and all are encouraged to continue playing in this competition.

The Spring League;

There has been a great turn out for this event last week, over 70 cards were listed, despite some bad weather later in the week.

Each player is putting in some serious efforts as the scoring is very high and should lead to an interesting 2nd week.

If you are not on the team list, contact Club Captain Martin Bohan 087 0509278 or Club Competition Secretary Liam Leahy 087 4115773 for you to substitute a placing or to create a new team.

Entry fee is €20 Round 1, Holes 1 to 9 extended to 5/ 2 /17 . 4 rounds in total.  Re-entry €3 . Prizes for round winners overall prizes first & second, and winner of division 2 cut after two rounds. Spread the word.

It’s important that each player “supports their team” and play as soon as possible so that the competition can be concluded within the next 4 weeks, weather permitting.

Look up who is on your team, from the selection on the notice board.

It’s expressed by the Competition secretary Liam Leahy that all wishing to participate to do so a soon as possible.

Competitors that cannot compete in the league can play the normal weekly competition with a league player. the fee will be €5.

“The Nationals”

A range of events encompass County, Regional and National and international Golf tournaments

sponsored by Great Irish Golf will take place at The Heritage Golf Club on Monday 3rd April 2017. Details are on the notice board for teams to take part.

Course:

The course is progressing well despite inclement weather with voluntary work which is all appreciated, on the Fairways, Tee Boxes, and Roughs.

Seniors Report and Results Thurs. 26th. Jan.

Due to extreme bad weather last Thursday 26th. too harsh, even for the brave determined senior, the event had to be cancelled.

A cancellation is always a disappointing as there is always a great enthusiasm for this event.

Fixtures;

Next Seniors, Thursday 9th. Feb.

Usual time 10am. for entries to start no later than 10-30am. Fee €5 which include Golf, Tea, Sandwich’s and the banter.

All visitors 55+ are more than welcome.

All Senior Golfers should try this event, just turn up and you will be more than welcome to enjoy an excellent social opportunity to play with likeminded golfers.

LMC.

AGM of the LMC will take place at Roscrea Golf Club on Tuesday 14th. February at 7.30pm. All are welcome, Details are on the LMC web site.
