LMC President Prize; It was an honor to host the Phil Ryan President Prize for the LMC (Leinster, Munster, Connaught) Senior Alliance Golf Society on Saturday 5th. Oct. It was a great occasion for our club to host this prestigious event especially that our own Phil Ryan is the current LMC President. There was a great attendance from the provinces, despite the inclement weather, but it did not deter the competitive ability for great scores. The overall winner was the renowned Templemore competitive Member “Eddie Butler” also Templemore had 4 more winners in the following categories; Cat. B, 3rd. Frankie Shortt. Cat. C. 1st. Bernie O’Rourke, 3rd. Michael Keely. Cat. D. 3rd. George Collins. A fantastic achievement for Templemore Golf Club Seniors.
3Ts. All Ireland Final; Templemore Golf Club progressed in the tournament to the All-Ireland final on Monday 14th. The team representing the club are; Josie Bourke, Bernie Stapleton, Ciaran Hassett and Club Captain Tony O’Toole. The final will take place on the Ryder Cup Golf Course. The competition is an awareness campaign to highlight the issues of suicide in Ireland at grassroots level.
Week-End Results; 18H. stableford 28th. & 29th. Sept. 1st. Ciaran Hassett 31pts. 2nd. John Hassett 30pts.
Seniors Thursday Golf; The Hardy Boys the seniors, faced the weather Gods and the golf course and played some very good golf. Today’s results were 1st. with 47pts. Seamus Bourke, Pascal Whelan, Gerry Keegan. 2nd. with 46pts. George Collins, Ollie Murray, Tom Kennedy, PJ Leahy. 3rd. with 45pts. George Murray, Tony O’Toole, and Eddie Butler.
A reminder to our Senior all those interested in playing in Cahir Monday 14th Oct. must have their names in by next Thursday.
“Cadets Membership” ; You can join the Cadets anytime from the age of 8 to 15 Boys and Girls and Cadet youths Age 15 to 18 Boys and Girls. All members who have a junior family member that has an interest in Golf should encourage them to call in on Wed and Friday’s. If new to the game, clubs will be made available to those that do not have them. This is an opportunity to build members for the future of the Club. All training will be in association with CGI (Confederation of Golf Ireland) guidelines and will continue throughout the year. Do your best to promote this venture. Cadet Training; Training will continue, on Saturdays from 1 to 2pm. Thanks for all the support from parents and volunteers and look forward to continuing throughout the year.
“New Members” Special Rate. Pay now and your membership will be up to Dec 2020. There is a “Special Fee” for beginners which is guaranteed not to change for 3 years. This is very attractive for anyone new interested in joining and for those purchasing vouchers to give a life changing experience to someone. New members are now been accepted. A “welcomed back” once-off, special rate for Gents €200 and Ladies €170. This is a great opportunity for golfers, Ladies and Gents who want to return to this great social game.
