Templemore Golf Club News; 

  

Fred Perry Munster Semi-Final;   Saturday 17th. Aug. -V- Limerick Golf Club (BALLYCLOUGH) in Nenagh Golf Club.  It was a great victory considering that Limerick had fielded the best of their players, Single Handicappers, formers all Ireland Hurling Greats, but could no defeat the great Team Manager; Seanie Gleeson and his team;  Joe O’Connor, Padraig Moloney, Tom McGrath, Bertie Keane, Seamus Bourke, Liam Daly, Denis Maher, Mattie Bourke, Joe Fahy, Denis Touhy.  The Team is now through to the Munster finals in Cork on the 8th. Sept.  The best of luck to this great team.

 

Club Classic;  The Club Fundraising Classic will commence on Wed. Sept.11th to Sunday Sept. 15th.  €100 per team of 4.  All clubs in the region will be more than welcome, and also all organising that want to field a team for this great cause in providing more equipment for this great amenity in Templemore to secure its future for the up and coming Cadets that they will have the best facilities for furthering their careers in this great game of golf.

 

Seniors Golf;   Senior results for Thursday 15th. competition.  Another excellent turnout and a close finish with most teams in contention. 1st. with 50pts. Jerry Keegan, Willie Haverty, Tony O’TOOLE, Ollie Murray.  2nd, with 49pts. John Mullaly, Mick Connell,  Pat Maher. 3rd. with 48pt. were Paddy Nolan ,Mick Maher, Tom Hogan, Donal Golden.

 

“Cadets” ;   The Cadets are still growing in numbers.  You can join the Cadets anytime from age is 8 to 15 Boys and Girls and Cadet youths Age 15 to 18 Boys and Girls.   All members who have a junior family member that has an interest in Golf should encourage them to call in on Wed and Friday’s.  If new to the game, clubs will be made available to those that do not have them.  This is an opportunity to build members for the future of the Club.  All training will be in association with CGI (Confederation of Golf Ireland) guidelines and will continue throughout the year.  Do your best to promote this venture.  A special practice range is now in place for the Cadets.  Contact Pat O’ Connell. 087-9205821 Club Juvenile Liaison Officer. Come along if you are interested in playing Golf

 

Cadet Training;  Cadet training will continue this Wed. 21st. from 10am to 12 and Friday from 10am to 11am. On 23rd. Aug.  Bring a friend, all will be welcomed.  Golf Clubs will be available for those that do not have them.  Don’t miss this opportunity to start playing Golf.

 

Social Mix; A great turn out of Ladies and Gents.  This is a fantastic event for all Youth Cadets to take part as the mix will bring great competition experience to beginner golfers.  The winners for Wed.14th. were; 1st. Team, Joe Fitzpatrick, Breda Murphy, Declan Russell, Kieran Molloy (Garda College).  2nd Team; Kevin Fitzpatrick, Seamus Bourke, Silvio Bondila (Garda College), Joe O’Connor.

 

Rates for 2020 accepted now for New Members;  There is a constant call out for new members and distance members.  You have the option to pay on -line through the club web site by Pay-Pal or Credit Card or by leaving the payment direct to a committee member.  The full Rates for 2019 are as follows;  Gent Membership,  €350;  Lady Membership, €300;  Couple,  €500;  Country Member,  €150;  Beginner Gent (Guaranteed not to change for 3 years) €200;  Beginner (Lady),  (Guaranteed not to change for 3 years) €170;  Juvenile (U15),  €25;  Juniors (15-18yrs. 2nd. Level & Garda Students,  €70;  OAP/Clergy (Existing),  €230;   OAP/Clergy (New),  €270;  OAP Couple (Existing & New),  €350;  Unemployed at 1st Jan,  €270;  Social Welfare Recipients and special needs, €270;  Distance (Outside 50K Lady & Gents),  €150;  Family (Children under 15yrs.),  €500;  Green Fees (not reduced for 9 holes), €10;  Green Fees; Junior, Juvenile, Student and Garda Student,  €5;  Late memberships will be accepted at reduced rates; Contact any club committee member for referral.

 

Special “New Members” Rate.  Pay now and your membership will be up to Dec 2020.  There is a “Special Fee” for beginners which is guaranteed not to change for 3 years.  This is very attractive for anyone new interested in joining and for those purchasing vouchers to give a life changing experience to someone.  New members are now been accepted.  All current members are encouraged to introduce at least “ONE NEW MEMBER” Lady or Gent, Junior or Student, Seniors Juveniles and Family, Active Retiree’s, Special Needs or any person interested in taking up the sport.  It will be a huge advantage to building the club membership and profile.

 

Welcome back to Lapsed Members; Pay now for membership op to Dec, 2020;  A special rate for “Lapsed Members” will continue throughout the year.  A “welcomed back” once-off, special rate for Gents €200 and Ladies €170.  This is a great opportunity for golfers, Ladies and Gents who want to return to this great social game.
