Templemore Golf Club News; 


Central Town Trophy;  A brillant win by Templemore-V- Esker hills on next Sat. 3rd. Aug.  3 away and 2 Home.  The results were 3.5 home and 1.5 away.  A great victory.  The final will be in Tullamore on 24th. Aug.   Congratulations to all the team and manager Liam Leahy.


Feileacain Charity Golf Classic; Saturday 3rd. August,  4ball Stableford, non GUI.  A brilliant response to a very worthy cause.  Players from far and wide responded in their support and to the delight of the organizer Declan Russell.   1st. Team Prize, Nenagh Golf Club, Paudie Bourke, Denis Deegan, Shane Cashman, Shane Scully. 100pts.  2nd. Team,  Roscrea Golf Club, Noel Quinlean, Conor Sheehy, Lyndan Fairbrother, Niall Bourke, 99pts.  3rd. Team, Rathdowney Golf Club, Mark Stakelum, Shane Russell, Declan Lynagh, Walter Doyle, 95pts.   4th. Team, Thurles Golf Club, Gary Russell, Dean mcEnroe, Brian Kennedy, Lyndon Fairbrother, 94pts. Mixed Social Golf ;  The Social Mixed Golf 9 holes was again a fantastic success.  It will continue every Wednesday Evening,  Registration 6. pm .   The Winners for Wed. 31st. were;  1st. Team;  Joe Hennessy, Kevin Hassett, Shiela Keely.  2nd. Team;  Dermot Cooper, Matt Bourke, Mary Hogan.


Seniors Golf;   Senior results Thurs. 1st. Aug.  A great turnout for the seniors golf. The results were,  1st. with 53pt.  Donal Golden, Ollie Murray, Mick Connell, Sean Gleeson,  2nd. also with 53pt. was Pat Costello, Eddie Butler, George Collins, Jim Gleeson, and in 3rd. place with 52pts. were George Murray, Seamus Ryan, Michael Webster, and Pat O Connell. The classic winners will be published next week.


“Cadets” ;   There was a fantastic increased attendance again at the Cadets on Wed.31st. and Friday 2nd.  Joining the Cadets age is 8 to 15 Boys and Girls and Cadet youths Age 15 to 18 Boys and Girls.   All members who have a junior family member that has an interest in Golf should encourage them to call in on Wed.  If new to the game, clubs will be made available to those that do not have them.  This is an opportunity to build members for the future of the Club.  All training will be in association with CGI (Confederation of Golf Ireland) guidelines and will continue throughout the year.  Do your best to promote this venture.  A special practice range is now in place for the Cadets.  Contact Pat O’ Connell. 087-9205821 Club Juvenile Liaison Officer. Come along if you are interested in playing Golf


Cadet Training;  Cadet training for Boys and Girls will continue this Wed. 7th. and Friday 9th. Aug.  Bring a friend, all will be welcomed.  Golf Clubs will be available for those that do not have them.  Don’t miss this opportunity to start playing Golf.

Special Beginner Rate.  Always available is a “Special Fee” for beginners which is guaranteed not to change for 3 years.  This is very attractive for anyone new interested in joining and for those purchasing vouchers to give a life changing experience to someone.  New members are now been accepted.  All current members are encouraged to introduce at least “ONE NEW MEMBER” Lady or Gent, Junior or Student, Seniors Juveniles and Family, Active Retiree’s, Special Needs or any person interested in taking up the sport.  It will be a huge advantage to building the club membership and profile.


Welcome back to Lapsed Members;  A special rate for “Lapsed Members” will continue throughout the year.  A “welcomed back” once-off, special rate for Gents €200 and Ladies €170.  This is a great opportunity for golfers, Ladies and Gents who want to return to this great social game.
