Templemore Golf Club Notes;

Templemore Golf Club President Prize, Both Ladies and Gents will be on Saturday 30th. Sept.    This event will be an 18hole Stableford and the last Golf Social event of this season.  Therefore it is expected to attract a large attendance.  Golfers available to play on Friday 29th. as the evenings will be shorter will be appreciated.  The presentations will  be in the Templemore Arms on Sat Night 30th. with great entertainment. There will be no admission fee so all members are encouraged to bring all the families and friends to what will be a great social night.

“Presidents Social Mix: Sunday 24th. Sept. Tee off at 2pm. All golfers are welcome to this special event, bring a friend.”

Men’s Singles Match play Quarter Finals;  The following are to be completed by September 18th.   With little change the current match play-offs are as follows. A; Jerry Keegan jnr. V Jim Russell, V B; Bernie O’Rourke V Sean Lee.    C; Conor Sheedy V (Tom McGrath V Eoin Bourke)  V D; Seamus Bourke V Hugh Scott.  It’s important that these players contact each other to finalize their play-offs before the 18th.

 

Juvenile Golf;   Any Juveniles who do not have their own Golf Clubs and want to continue or to take up this great Game can contact; Pat O’Connell 087-9205821 and he will organise a kit for them from the Templemore Lions Club “ Golf Clubs Wanted” project.  This is a great support project between “Templemore Golf Club” and “Templemore Lions Club” to help juveniles continue with this great game.

 

Time Sheets;   “Don’t be without your Sunday game! “  Place your name on the Sunday time-sheet so that you can link up with other players.

 

Web Site;  If you have any memorabilia Golf photos that you want achieved on the web site which will also be featured on the “Templemore Golf Club Facebook”.   So that they can shared with your friends.  This is great platform opportunity to record all events both current and past in Ladies and Gents Golf.  It’s Important to record any historical events, competition results, Member photos of past activities of the Club.  This is an important opportunity to promote the Club as a Vibrant and Active Club for almost 40 years via the web and Facebook.  Contact; Tony 0868209991.

Golfer of the Year;  Important!  All members should compete in all competitions throughout the year.  This will Increase your “Golfer of the Year” points.

 

Away Scoring Recording Form;  Important!  All away scores are to be recorded on the “Away Record Form” on the notice board, for Non Qualifying,  Society,  Fourball and Team Events.  All members are requested to respect this request so that a better accuracy can be applied to the formation of handicaps.

 

Ladies Golf;   Tuesday 5th Sept. 18h S/f.;  1st  Bernie Stapleton.  2nd Kathleen Maher.  3rd Sara Herns.

Social Mix;  Wed 6th. Sept.  1st Team, Paul Touhy, Dinny Maher, Mary O Connor.  2nd Team, Seamus Bourke, Frank Shortt, Mary Moore.  This was the final Social Mix for 2017.  It was well attended and all were very much appreciative to the Ladies for continuing with this great event throughout the year.  Club President Tony O’Toole congratulated the Ladies on making this event a vibrant, active, and noticeable event so that all golfers can take part in it.  Lady Hon Secretary Kay Brennan congratulated Lady President Maura Sheehan and Lady Comp. Secretary Josie Moloney for their due diligence in making this a successful event.

Tuesday September 12th 18 Hole Stableford. Men’s prize to the Lady’s.

Tuesday September 19th and 26th Club competitions.

3 T’s.  The 3T charity competition was held on Tuesday Aug 29th, and congratulations to the winner Sadie Tynan.  Sadie will now play with the winner of the men’s 3T competition Dessie Hennessy in the K Club.  A great achievement and profile for the club.  Congratulation and the best of luck to both.

Retirees, Seniors that want to take up this great game:   All it takes in Templemore is 2 hours of your time to complete this very competitive 9 hole course.  You can call in anytime at your convenience (No Time Sheet Necessary) and get a game and be assured that you will be more than welcome.  If you do not have Clubs and want to get started contact any golf club member and you will get a start-up kit and you will be more than welcome

Volunteers;  If you want an physical exercise hobby become a golf club volunteer.  You will always be more than welcome in helping with the presentation of the course.  Just check in with the course Volunteer organiser, John Stapleton 086-0894718 to offer any skills that will make improvements i.e. Grass Cutting, Bunker Raking, Strimming of all edges, Drains, Pat-ways and Bunkers, Carpentry, Maintenance or others, or just turn up at your own convenience.  All will be appreciated.

 

Seniors Report and Results;  Thursday 31st. was well attended and a delight to see some new members. The results were ;  1st. Team;  Tom McGrath, Pat Maher, Michael Meagher.  2nd Team; Joe O’ Connor, John Mullally, P.J. Leahy, Joe Clarke.  3rd Team; Eddie Butler, Tommy Foley, Jim Gleeson, Paddy Nolan.

 

New Seniors Members;  If you are a Senior Golfers or visiting Golfer 55+ or anyone in retirement that want a social sport activity are more than welcome to enjoy an excellent social opportunity to play this great game with like-minded golfers.  Just turn up on Thursday mornings at 10am.  Or contact; John Stapleton @ 086-0894718

LMC Winners;   Watch this Space   “Golfer of The Year Update”  placings with only 3 more Outings;  1st. place (Sharing); Liam Daly, 298 pts.  4th. Place;  Mick Carey, 277 pts.  5th.  place;  Mick Keely, 277pts.  It’s great to see these 3 members of our own members competing in the top 5 of this event.  Well done to all.  You are a credit to the Club.

Thurles Results 28th. Aug;  1st. in Class 1; Pat O’Connell.  2nd. In Class 2; Mick Keely.  3rd. in Class 3;  Eddie Butler.  It is always a great profile for the club to see some of its members in the prestigious winning circle.

Next event;  Nenagh on Monday, 11th. Sept.   All LMC fixtures are on the notice Board in Club House and on the LMC web site.
